Cielito Mexican Kitchen is a family-owned restaurant located in the heart of Downtown Providence, founded by Chef Diego Alcantar — the same chef behind the popular Tuxpan Taqueria in Central Falls. Inspired by his roots in Tuxpan, Michoacán, Diego brings the rich flavors and traditions of his hometown to every dish.

Growing up helping his grandparents harvest fresh produce and learning to cook alongside his mother, Diego developed a deep love for food early on. That passion led him from working in local kitchens to opening his own restaurant, where family plays a key role — from his mom in the kitchen to his siblings helping run the business.

Now, with Cielito, Diego continues his mission of sharing authentic Mexican cuisine, made with love and fresh ingredients. The menu features traditional dishes like corundas, mole de olla, carnitas, and enchiladas, along with house-made aguas frescas and colorful cocktails.
